A UAE weekend does not have to start with an expensive attraction ticket. Outdoor places, cultural visits, cinema offers and planned days out can fit very different budgets. Choose activities around the people joining you, the season and the total cost of the day, then check availability before leaving home.
Useful guides to start with
Start with the kind of day you want
Decide whether you want a short local outing, an outdoor trip or a full day at an attraction. Consider age, mobility, interests and the time available. Free entry can still involve parking, food or equipment costs. Our local activity guides help you find options before committing to a paid package.
Check dates, weather and access
Confirm opening hours, reservation requirements and any seasonal closure. Outdoor plans should take account of temperature, daylight and safe access. For a desert trip or excursion, review the operator, transport, activity limits and what is included. A list of attractions is a starting point, not a guarantee that every activity suits every visitor.
Compare the complete ticket offer
Check resident eligibility, blackout dates, children’s tickets, transport and whether extras are included. Compare direct booking with third-party packages using the same date and ticket type. Cinema and membership offers can be useful if you already hold the required card or plan to use the benefit.
Keep a realistic weekend budget
Allow for meals, transport and small purchases around the activity. Alternate bigger outings with local plans that you enjoy regularly. Keep flexible bookings when circumstances may change, and read cancellation terms.
