MoneySaverWorld helps expats and residents in the UAE make smarter financial decisions. We cover credit cards, savings accounts, the cost of living, visa processes, and everyday ways to save, all specific to life in the Emirates.
Every guide on this site is built from firsthand experience. We don’t rewrite press releases or scrape comparison sites. We research products directly, verify details with official sources, and update our content when things change.
Who’s behind it
The team behind MoneySaverWorld moved to Dubai in 2016 and spent the first year figuring out which bank account to open, how to avoid unnecessary fees, and where the hidden costs of expat life actually are. MoneySaverWorld started as a way to document those lessons so others wouldn’t have to make the same mistakes.
Since then, the team has personally compared every major UAE credit card, tested remittance services, navigated the golden visa process, and tracked how the cost of living has shifted across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. We write about what we know from direct experience, not from a desk in another country.
How we create our content
Every article on MoneySaverWorld follows the same process:
Primary research: Product details are checked directly on bank websites, government portals, and provider apps. Never copied from aggregators.
Firsthand experience: Where possible, we use the products and services ourselves before writing about them. If we haven’t, we say so.
Regular updates: Articles are reviewed quarterly or whenever a product changes. Every article displays its last updated date clearly.
Source verification: Fees, rates, and eligibility criteria are verified against official UAE government and bank sources before publishing.
How we make money
Some of our articles contain affiliate links. When you apply for a product through one of these links, like a credit card or savings account, we may earn a commission from the provider.
This never affects our recommendations. We recommend the same products whether an affiliate link exists or not. If a product is the best option but we don’t have a partnership with the provider, we still recommend it. Our credibility depends on being honest. That matters more than any commission.
