Your RTA Nol card does more than pay for metro rides and bus fares. Through the Nol Plus loyalty programme, every dirham you spend on public transport, parking, and partner outlets earns points redeemable for discounts at restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, and attractions across Dubai. Most residents use their Nol card daily without ever claiming a single point. This guide shows you exactly how to register, how many points you earn, and how to redeem them for maximum value.
What is Nol Plus
Nol Plus is Dubai RTA’s official loyalty programme for Nol card holders. Every time you use your Nol card to pay for metro, bus, tram, taxi, or parking, you earn points automatically. These points accumulate in your Nol Plus account and can be redeemed for Nol card top-ups, discount vouchers at restaurants and supermarkets, and free rides on public transport.
The programme is free to join and open to all Nol card holders. Points appear in your account within 9 working days of each transaction and are valid for 12 months. You cannot exchange points for cash but you can transfer them to another registered Nol Plus account.
Nol card types and which earns more
| Card type | Colour | Points earned | Linked to | Cost to upgrade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personalised card | Blue | 1 point per AED 1 spent | Emirates ID, mobile number, email | AED 30 to upgrade from silver or gold |
| Anonymous card | Silver or Gold | 1 point per AED 2 spent | Not linked to any identity | N/A |
| Student card | Blue (student) | 1 point per AED 1 spent | Student ID, Emirates ID | Free for eligible students |
The personalised blue card earns double the points of an anonymous card. If you currently have a silver or gold Nol card not linked to your Emirates ID, upgrading to a personalised blue card costs AED 30 and doubles your earning rate immediately. For regular commuters spending AED 200 to AED 400 per month on public transport, the upgrade pays for itself within 2 to 3 months through additional points earned.
How to upgrade to a personalised blue card: go to rta.ae, find the Personalising Existing Card service, enter your Nol ID, provide your personal details, upload both sides of your Emirates ID in JPEG format under 2MB, pay AED 30 online, and activate at any Metro station gate after receiving your SMS confirmation.
How to register for Nol Plus
Registration is free and takes under 10 minutes online. You need an RTA account or UAE Pass before starting.
Step 1: go to nolplus.ae or the RTA Dubai app. If you do not have an RTA account, register at rta.ae with your full name, email, mobile number, and nationality. You will receive an OTP to verify your email.
Step 2: log in to nolplus.ae using your RTA account credentials, UAE Pass, or Emirates ID.
Step 3: on the Nol Plus dashboard, click the plus icon on the virtual Nol card displayed. Enter your 10-digit Nol tag ID, printed on the back of your physical card.
Step 4: verify via OTP sent to your registered mobile number and email. Select your preferred offer categories (restaurants, retail, parking) or skip this optional step.
Step 5: your Nol Plus account is now active. Points begin accumulating from your next eligible transaction and appear in your account within 9 working days.
Tip: you can also register through the RTA Dubai app or Nol Pay app. Look for the Nol Plus or Loyalty section after logging in. The app version is faster for most users and avoids the website login process.

How to redeem your points
You have three redemption options:
Top up your Nol card balance: minimum 500 points to add AED 5 to your card. Log in to nolplus.ae, go to My Account, click Manage Your Nol Plus Points, click Redeem Points as Nol Balance, select your card and the amount to redeem, complete the captcha, and click Redeem. Activate the top-up by tapping your card at any Metro gate, parking meter, or bus station top-up machine at least 45 minutes after the redemption.
Transfer points to another Nol Plus account: useful for topping up a family member’s card. Log in, go to Manage Points, select Transfer to Another Account, enter the recipient’s Nol Plus ID, and confirm.
Redeem for discount vouchers: log in to nolplus.ae, go to My Account, click Manage Points, and browse the available vouchers from partner restaurants, supermarkets, and attractions. Each voucher has its own terms including minimum spend requirements and validity periods. Read these before redeeming.
Where to use your Nol card for discounts
Restaurants and cafes
Partner restaurants where Nol card payments earn points and qualify for discount vouchers include Paavo’s Pizza, London Dairy, Burger King, Cravia, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Mister Baker, Carter’s, and 800 Degrees Pizza. The partner network expands regularly so check the current full list on nolplus.ae as new outlets are added throughout the year.
Supermarkets
Pay with your Nol card at Lulu Hypermarket, Carrefour, Zoom, All Day Convenience Store, Al Maya Supermarkets, Aswaaq, and K Circle to earn points on grocery spending. On a AED 500 weekly grocery bill paid with a personalised blue Nol card, you earn 500 points per week or 2,000 points per month, equivalent to AED 20 in Nol card credit.
Pharmacies
Aster, Medcom, Medicina, and Medcare clinics and hospitals (Dubai and Sharjah locations) accept Nol card payments and earn points.
Attractions
Etihad Museum and IMG Worlds of Adventure both accept Nol card payments and participate in the loyalty scheme.
Other services
TASJEEL government services, 050 Telecom, ENOC petrol stations, and Autopro Car Services all accept Nol card payments and earn points.
Emaar Nol card: up to 40% off top Dubai attractions
A special Emaar Nol card, available for AED 55 per person, unlocks discounts of up to 40% at some of Dubai’s most popular attractions. The card can be purchased at Nol stations or Emaar counters. Participating attractions include:
Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai Aquarium, Dubai Opera, Dig-It, KidZania, Ekart Zabeel, and VR Park.
For families visiting multiple Emaar attractions in a single trip, the AED 55 cost is recovered within one visit. A family of four visiting the Dubai Aquarium and VR Park at standard rates would spend significantly more than AED 220 (4 x AED 55) before any discounts.
Tips to maximise your Nol Plus points
Upgrade to a personalised blue card. This single step doubles your earning rate on every transaction. At AED 30, it is the highest ROI upgrade available in the programme.
Pay for groceries with your Nol card. Most residents pay for groceries by credit card or cash and miss the grocery points entirely. Paying at Lulu, Carrefour, or Al Maya with your Nol card adds significant points on top of transport spending.
Pay for RTA parking with your Nol card. If you drive and use RTA parking zones, every parking payment earns points. Switch from the mParking SMS system to Nol card payments at parking meters to start earning.
Stack with other savings. Earning Nol Plus points at Lulu Hypermarket stacks on top of the Lulu loyalty programme and any credit card cashback you earn on the same transaction. Three different reward sources from one grocery shop.
Redeem points before they expire. Points are valid for 12 months. Set a calendar reminder every 6 months to check your balance and redeem before expiry. Expired points are not recoverable.
Top up your Nol card online for bonus points. Online top-ups through the RTA website or Nol Pay app sometimes carry bonus point promotions. Check before topping up at a Metro station machine.

What is the minimum points needed to redeem?
